Stoned Driving Can’t be Measured As Well as Drunk Driving

Defects in Colorado’s 5NG Law

Drunk driving  fatalities are going down across the country, but drug-impaired driving is increasing.  Since Colorado and Washington legalized marijuana, there has been a noticeable increase in deaths caused by stoned drivers — especially in those states and but in other states, too. By 2020, MADD estimates that drugged driving will overtake drunk driving as a cause of impaired driving accidents. Marijuana is the drug most often cited for DUIs involving drugs.
According to Ed Wood of DUID Victim Voices:

“A link between THC blood levels and impairment may never be

Alcohol and marijuana are very distinct in terms of chemical makeup, body metabolism, and psycho-motor impairment and therefore should not be compared. Continue reading Stoned Driving Can’t be Measured As Well as Drunk Driving

The Dark Side of Marijuana

Mother Changes her Mind about Marijuana after Experiencing it in Colorado

(By a Colorado resident)  My son went into psychosis and I’m lucky he is still here.  The drug that is being advertised and promoted is part of an irresponsible industry that provides no education to our youth, and actually makes marijuana look cool and harmless.

When I tell pro-pot people my story and post the evidence that pot can cause psychosis, I’m bullied and verbally abused. I was actually kind of ok with recreational pot if the THC levels were low, but now I am totally against it all together. Continue reading The Dark Side of Marijuana

Colorado Marijuana Industry Through Irish Eyes

An Irish visitor reacts to legal marijuana:

“I was shocked by the carry on while I was there last month. People driving around like they are staring in a bad episode of training day! I don’t even think this behavior can be policed. The amount of vagrants that congregate there just because it’s easier to get drugs is also shocking. They intermingle with hill-walkers just to fit in but the vagrants are the ones that are stoned. There seems to be a huge social problem in Colorado just because of drugs. It seems like alcohol is prohibited for under 21-year-olds but that’s OK because they’ll get marijuana anyway. I hope we never legalise any form of drug in Ireland after seeing it firsthand!!!”

Legalizing Marijuana Creates Challenges for Youth

Schools, Educators Have New Problems

Legalization legitimizes pot for adults, which of course makes the children believe there are no negative consequences.

The Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Traffic (HIDTA) report provided statistical information.  The report also had some anecdotal reports from the schools.  In August, 2015, high school guidance counselors answered survey questions about by how marijuana legalization in Colorado affected the schools.  According to the survey 51% of the respondents said that the most prominent marijuana violation is “students being under the influence of marijuana during school hours.” Continue reading Legalizing Marijuana Creates Challenges for Youth
