We’ve published several articles on the dangers of marijuana use by pregnant and breastfeeding women, a trend that doubled between 2002 and 2017.

Most recently, there’s evidence this practice contributes to the growing risk for autism in children.  Marijuana use by parents may increase the chance of having autistic children.

On April 5, the Governor of Arizona signed a law that will require all medical marijuana dispensaries to carry warning signs against using marijuana while pregnant or breastfeeding.   HB 2061 requires the Department of Health Services to set rules requiring all medical-marijuana dispensaries to prominently display signs warning pregnant and breast-feeding women of the dangers marijuana poses.The signs must include language about the risk of being reported to the state Department of Child Safety for marijuana use.
